Aquanaut Chronograph (Blue Dial)
Ref. 5968G-001
$156,500 · AED 574,700
Message on WhatsAppThe Aquanaut launched in 1997 as Patek's cheaper, rubber-strapped riff on its own Nautilus, aimed at a younger buyer who found the Genta original a bit too country club. Patek didn't give it a chronograph until 2018, and didn't engineer one from scratch either: the 5968 borrows the CH 28-520 C wholesale from the Nautilus 5980, a fairly candid admission of where the Aquanaut sat in the internal hierarchy at the time.
This Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph wears a 42.2mm white gold case with a blue sunburst dial in the Aquanaut's embossed waffle pattern. Calibre CH 28-520 C inside, on the integrated midnight-blue composite strap.
Fun fact: that movement first appeared in the Nautilus Chronograph ref. 5980 in 2006, and only reached the Aquanaut case twelve years later for the 5968's 2018 launch.
