The Land-Dweller is the first new Rolex line in a decade, launched in 2025 around the Dynapulse escapement beating at five hertz. Its integrated flat Jubilee bracelet marks Rolex’s first true entry into the integrated sports watch conversation.

Rolex's Land-Dweller, here in 36mm 18k rose gold, carrying a white display. Calibre 7135 keeps it running.

Fun fact: The Land-Dweller debuted in 2025 with the calibre 7135 and Rolex’s new Dynapulse escapement, its biggest movement news in decades.

The reference in depth

The Land-Dweller 36 in Everose gold

Why this one matters

Rolex introduced the Land-Dweller in April 2025, the first new family since the Sky-Dweller in 2012. It is an integrated bracelet watch: a flat Jubilee bracelet, a fluted bezel, a honeycomb motif dial, and a case that has invited comparisons with the Oysterquartz of the late 1970s.

The range launched in 36mm and 40mm, in white Rolesor, Everose gold and platinum. This is the 36mm Everose, reference 127235-0001, with the intense white honeycomb dial on a matching Everose Flat Jubilee bracelet. The launch was really about the calibre and its escapement, both carrying new patents, rather than about the case shape, which is the reverse of how most new Rolex models arrive.

The movement

Calibre 7135 runs at 5 Hz, 36,000 beats an hour, which is not usual for Rolex. It uses the Dynapulse escapement, a silicon indirect-impulse design, with a Syloxi hairspring and a ceramic balance staff. Power reserve is about 66 hours, which is the harder trick, since high frequency normally costs reserve. Regulated to -2/+2 seconds a day after casing, with an instant date jump. The same calibre drives both sizes.

On the wrist

36mm, and the bracelet is integrated, so the effective lug to lug is short and it sits close to the wrist. The case is 9.7mm thick, thin for a gold automatic. In solid Everose on a gold bracelet the weight is substantial, most of it in the bracelet, and to our eye the flat Jubilee drapes rather than stacking up on the side of the wrist. Those last two points are impressions rather than measurements.

Questions we are asked about this reference

Is this a replacement for the Datejust?

No. It is a separate family with an integrated bracelet and a different calibre. The Datejust continues in the collection alongside it.

Why run at 5 Hz?

A faster balance is less disturbed by shock and position, which helps rate stability. The new escapement is what allows it without losing the power reserve.

Is there a steel version?

The entry version is white Rolesor, Oystersteel with a white gold fluted bezel, rather than steel throughout.

Land-Dweller

The integrated bracelet Rolex, arrived in 2025 with an escapement of its own

The Land-Dweller was unveiled in 2025 as a new family rather than a variant of an existing one, and Rolex describes it as a reinterpretation of the integrated bracelet watches it explored in 1969 with the Rolex Quartz and again in 1974 on a Datejust. The bracelet is the Flat Jubilee, five link like a standard Jubilee but with every link flattened and running straight out of the case, closed by a concealed folding Crownclasp. The dial carries a honeycomb motif cut with a femtosecond laser, sits under a fluted bezel, and uses luminescent open numerals alongside index hour markers. Inside is calibre 7135 running at 5 Hz on the silicon Dynapulse escapement, visible through a sapphire back, with the watch offered in White Rolesor, Everose gold and platinum.

36 mm and 40 mm

Who it suits

Suits a buyer who wants an integrated bracelet and a view of the movement rather than a rotating bezel and a solid back.
