The Lange 1 relaunched German fine watchmaking in 1994: off centre dial, outsize date drawn from Dresden’s opera clock, and a hand engraved balance cock in every example. It is the face of A. Lange & Söhne.
A Lange 1 in 41.9mm platinum, silver, roman numerals on the wrist. L031.1 movement inside.
Fun fact: The Lange 1 dial is laid out off centre so no hand ever crosses another, and its outsize date takes its proportions from the five minute clock of the Semperoper in Dresden, which Ferdinand Adolph Lange helped build.
